Boy band WayV debuted in January 2019 with its first digital EP, “The Vision,” under Label V, a Chinese subsidiary label of SM Entertainment.
It was officially announced to be a China-based subunit of the boy band NCT in September 2020.
It has six members: Kun, Ten, WinWin, XiaoJun, Hendery and YangYang. Lucas left the band on May 10, 2023. He has been on hiatus since 2021 due to a scandal regarding his personal life.
The band won Best New Asian Artist at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
WayV’s subunit duo WayV-Kun&Xiaojun debuted in June 2021, and another subunit duo WayV-Ten&Yangyang in August 2021.
