Boy band Hi-Fi un!corn, after coming out victorious in the final episode of the Korean-Japanese co-produced band audition show “The Idol Band: Boy’s Battle” on Saturday, is planning to debut in the first half of 2023 and will be managed under the agency FNC Entertainment, producers of the show on SBS M told the Korea JoongAng Daily on Tuesday.

The band consists of five members: bassist Son Ki-yoon, vocalist Un Tae-min, guitarist Kim Hyun-yul, vocalist Fukushima Shuto and drummer Heo Min, with bassist Son as the leader of the band.

“It still feels surreal. We would like to thank everyone, including the staff and producers of the show. […] Please give us a lot of love and interest,” said the band in the press release.

The band members were also ambitious about their future goals.

“We aim to be a ‘band-version BTS’ — we wish to get a lot of support from fans globally,” said Shuto.

The audition show “The Idol Band: Boy’s Battle” aired on Korean cable networks SBS M and SBS FiL and Japanese network TBS from December 2022. Having the Korean agency FNC involved in the production of the series, the agency’s boy band CNBlue, FT Island and NFlying participated in the show as producers of the contestants alongside two Japanese rock bands, Kankaku Pierrot and Keytalk.
