Jini, a former member of girl group Nmixx, has signed with agency United Artist Production (UAP).

“Jini has signed an exclusive contract with UAP, and the company [Sublime] will act as the agency managing [Jini] following an agreement with UAP,” a statement released by Sublime reads.

Sublime clarified with the Korea JoongAng Daily on Friday that while UAP is not a subsidiary of Sublime, the agency will be in charge of Jini's management.

“We will provide unstinting support to UAP artist Jini in her global activities to help her display her full potential, and we are happy to bring synergies with her,” the statement added.

Jini, whose real name is Choi Yoon-jin, has changed the spelling of her stage name from Jinni to the current spelling with one less "n."

Jini debuted as a member of girl group Nmixx under JYP Entertainment in February 2022. After two albums, the agency announced the termination of her exclusive contract with the agency, alongside her departure from girl group Nmixx due to “personal reasons” in December 2022.

She opened her Instagram account 100 days after she left the girl group, in March 2023. With 1.44 million followers as of Friday, she garnered almost half the number of followers of Nmixx’s official Instagram account.

While fans have speculated that Jinni signed with The Black Label, the entertainment agency home to artists such as Zion. T, Taeyang and Somi, the agency released a statement on March 21 denying this rumor.

Actors Song Kang-ho, Hani, a former member of girl group EXID, Yein from girl group Lovelyz, Lim Na-young, a former member of girl group IOI and Pristin and Jackson Wang of boy band GOT7 are some of the artists under Sublime.
