Highlight's Yang Yo-seob to participate in 'Yaoki Project'
Yang Yo-seob of boy band Highlight will meet fans through a global music project, the production company Artmatic Company announced Thursday.
“The second song of the ‘Yaoki Project,’ which Yang helped to produce, will be released on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.,” said Artmatic Company through a press release on Thursday.
The song will be titled “Goodbye Again” (translated) and is a song that Yang directly participated in during the production process, according to Artmatic Company.
The “Yaoki Project” is a new global music brand concept that tells the story of a cat from outer space, named Yaoki, who learns human emotions through the medium of music. “Goodbye Again” will be released in the form of a collaboration with the character Yaoki.
Girl group Weeekly previously participated in the concept as the first runner-up of the Yaoki Project and released a Christmas song.
Since the release of the project, Weeekly members as well as singers AleXa, Yoon Ji-sung, JUST B, Purple Kiss and CSR have participated in the performance challenge of the Christmas song and drew attention from global fans.
Yang debuted as a member of Highlight and has been releasing solo music across genres for the past couple of years. He has also been active as an actor, appearing on dramas such as “Let’s Eat 2” (2015) and “Seo-young, My Daughter” (2012-2013).
