Tom Cruise is coming to town. Lotte Entertainment announced Friday that the Hollywood star will be visiting Korea on June 18 to promote his new film “Top Gun: Maverick.” It will be his 10th visit to Korea.

“Tom Cruise will be visiting with Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, actor Jay Ellis and Greg Tarzan Davis,” Lotte Entertainment, the film’s local distributor, said. It added that their visit was made possible as the Korean release date of the film was pushed from May 25 to June 22. In May, Cruise and the other cast wanted to visit Korea in person to promote the film, but couldn’t do so because of the Covid-19 situation, according to the distributor.

Bruckheimer is the one who collaborated with Cruise to co-produce the film. “Top Gun: Maverick” is the sequel to the 1986 classic “Top Gun” (1986), directed by Tony Scott. Cruise played Lieutenant Pete Maverick Mitchell. He plays the same character in the upcoming film.
