Boy band Ateez [KQ ENTERTAINMENT]

Boy band Ateez will release its fourth Japanese single, "Birthday," on Oct. 2, its agency KQ Entertainment said Wednesday.

"Birthday" comes as the band's first new Japanese music in seven months since its third single, "Not Okay," was released in February. Six songs will be included in the upcoming compilation, including the title track "Birthday," two new songs and the instrumental tracks for all three songs.

"Not Okay" sold 178,135 copies on the first day of release, "eight times higher than the previous release," according to the agency.

The band's collaboration with J-pop boy band BE:FIRST, titled "Hush-Hush," topped the Oricon Weekly Digital Single Chart, the Billboard Japan Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard Japan Download Songs chart.

Ateez is set to perform at the Tokyo Garden Theater on Aug. 21 and 22 and the Grand Cube Osaka in Osaka on Aug. 27 and 28 as part of its meet and greet tour, "Atiny's Voyage: From A to Z." Atiny is the name of the band's official fan club.

Ateez will also perform at the Summer Sonic 2024 music festival on Aug. 17 and 18.
