Attrakt to hold audition program with JTBC for new girl group
Fifty Fifty’s agency Attrakt will launch an audition program on JTBC to debut a new girl group, it revealed Friday.
The same day, Attrakt signed a memorandum of understanding with Studio Jamm, a content management agency under JTBC.
“We’ll do our best to create a girl group that will make K-pop shine even more,” Oscar Chun, the CEO of Attrakt, said in a press release. “We’ll try to climb the Billboard charts again with courage and wisdom.”
Additional information for the audition program has not yet been revealed.
Studio Jamm previously produced JTBC’s music television shows “Phantom Singer” (2016-20), “Super Band” (2019), “K-909” (2022-), “R U NEXT” (2023) and “The Second World” (2022).
Fifty Fifty debuted in 2022 and skyrocketed to fame with its song “Cupid,” becoming the fastest K-pop group to land on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It has been in a legal battle since last June for an injunction to end their contract with the agency.
All members but Keena have been dismissed from Attrakt. Keena returned to the agency after dropping her case earlier this month. On Tuesday a court once again dismissed the three members’ appeal to have their exclusive contracts with Attrakt be nullified.
