Singer BoA will release a new song for the first time in a year and four months, her agency SM Entertainment said Monday.

The new single, titled "Emptiness," will drop on March 26, a year and four months since her previous and third EP, "Forgive Me" (2022).

"The new single will present a more distinct and unique BoA music," the agency said in a press release.

BoA debuted in 2000 at the age of 13 under SM Entertainment with “ID: PEACE B.” She garnered considerable popularity around Asia, especially in Japan, stepping into the overseas music scene at a young age. She released hit songs such as “No. 1” (2002), “Valenti” (2002), “Hurricane Venus” (2010) and “Only One” (2012).

She has been active outside of her solo singing career in recent months. She took part in the tvN drama series "Marry My Husband," which wrapped up in February, and has been directing SM Entertainment's newest boy band, NCT Wish, as the producer.
