Boy band xikers to return with new album in August
Boy band xikers will return with a new album on Aug. 2, the boy band's agency KQ Entertainment said Tuesday.
The upcoming album will be the boy band's second music release, followed by its debut EP "House of Tricky: Doorbell Ringing" released on March 30.
A teaser poster released Tuesday showed 10 colorful paper crowns on a field with the date of the music release written at the top of the poster.
The album's name and format have not been disclosed yet.
The name of the boy band, "xikers," pronounced "psy-kers," is a combination of "x," used to represent the horizontal coordinates, and "hikers," meaning the "members of the boy band are finding the coordinates to travel through time and space," the agency said.
The 10-member boy band debuted in March as the second boy band to debut under the agency KQ Entertainment. KQ Entertainment is known as the agency behind boy band Ateez.
The boy band's debut album sold more than 100,000 copies in the first week of its release, making it the fifth most sold rookie boy band album in Korea. The album also landed on Billboard's main chart only two weeks after its release, an impressive achievement for a rookie boy band.
