Disney+ original series 'Han River Police' set for release in second half
Disney+ original series “Han River Police” starring Kwon Sang-woo, Kim Hee-won, Lee Sang-yi and Bae Da-bin will be released in the second half of this year, the streaming service announced Monday.
“Han River Police” will tell the story of a police force that patrols the Han River in Seoul.
Kwon, a household name in Korea for roles in films and dramas such as the hit romantic comedy “My Tutor Friend” (2003), “Stairway to Heaven” (2003), “Once Upon a Time in High School” (2004) and “Almost Love” (2006), will take the lead role of Han Du-jin, a policeman with a temper who is part of the Han River patrol squad.
Kim, another veteran actor with roles in films such as “The Beauty Inside” (2015) and “Missing” (2016), will take on the role opposite Kwon as Lee Chun-seok. Kwon’s and Kim’s characters are expected to bring a comedic chemistry to “Han River Police,” according to Disney+.
Lee, Bae and Shin Hyeon-seung from Tving’s “Work Later, Drink Now” (2021) will also star as members of the police squad in “Han River Police.”
