Blackpink fans accused American actor Margaret Qualley of making racist remarks against Jennie during Paris Fashion Week.

Jennie attended Chanel’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. The singer is the ambassador for the Parisian luxury fashion house.


Videos from the event show Jennie greeting other celebrities who were also in attendance, including Qualley.

One video that trended on social media shows Qualley and Jennie hugging and the American actor touching Jennie’s blonde hair, asking, “Is this your real hair?”

Jennie then shakes her head no, to which Qualley answers, “It looks real!”

Fans criticized Qualley’s behavior online, asking why the actor would touch someone else’s hair and ask if it’s real, especially a person of another race.

Fans disproved of another interaction between the two when Jennie and Qualley posed together for a photograph and Qualley seemingly avoided a kissy-face expression made by Jennie.
