Girl group ITZY is back to write nab another “Gold” with its latest album, promising to “excite” listeners.

“If the previous album ‘Born To Be’ was a fiery spice, this album will be an exciting taste of gold,” said member Yeji at a press conference held Tuesday in western Seoul ahead of the album’s release at 6 p.m. the same day.

The new album has 11 songs including two lead tracks: “Gold” and “Imaginary Friend.” B-side tracks include "VAY," a track featuring boy band Stray Kids' member Changbin.

“We chose every track very carefully, and we think it will be like a gift,” Chaeryeong said. “We think that the album will make us shine.”

“Gold” comes for the first time in nine months since its eighth EP, "Born to Be," was released in January. This album will also be the first time in over a year that member Lia rejoins the band's activities. Lia took time off since last September due to "extreme nervousness and anxiety."

“I was able to come back thanks to the fans, members and everyone who waited for me,” Lia said. “I prepared harder so that I can show you a better side of me, considering the long time it has been.”

“We are so glad to be able to show our charms with all five of us back together,” said Yeji. “We’re excited to show what good music we’ve prepared.”

ITZY recently finished its second world tour, “Born to Be,” which kicked off with concerts at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa District, southern Seoul, in February. The girl group held 32 performances in 28 countries around the world.

The girl group will go on television music shows and hold meet and greet events with fans next month.

“There have been difficult moments as well as happy ones,” Yuna said. “Members and fans were there all the way. I really want to show the true ITZY color with all that gratitude in my heart.”
