MAMA Awards to hit Tokyo Dome in November
The 2023 MAMA Awards will be held at the Tokyo Dome on Nov. 28 and 29, its organizer CJ ENM said Thursday.
It will be the first Korean award ceremony to be held at the Tokyo Dome, the largest indoor stadium in Japan.
"'MAMA Awards' has been hosted in different Asian destinations, including Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan and more," CJ ENM said in a press release.
"This year, we plan on hosting an offline performance in Japan, Korea's No. 1 importer of K-pop and the second largest music industry in the world."
The lineup of K-pop artists participating in the award ceremony has not been announced yet.
The award ceremony will be streamed live worldwide through YouTube and other platforms.
The theme of this year's award ceremony will be "One I Born," referring to "I," who is unique in itself, meeting with MAMA to be the "One" together," CJ ENM explained in a press release.
Until last year, the MAMA Awards stood for "Mnet Asian Music Awards," named after the music-focused cable network Mnet. The award ceremony has been renamed as MAMA Awards.
