Netflix’s apocalyptic horror series, “Sweet Home,” will return for a third season on July 19, serving as the grand finale to the monster-action series.

The third season will follow the struggles of people battling in a world where a new humanity arises, according to Netflix.

Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name created by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, season one followed the story of a group of people trapped inside an apartment complex called Green Home when an apocalypse hits, turning people into zombielike monsters. The second season, released last year, revolved around the residents of Green Home escaping from the building and going their separate ways.

The third season will revolve around the theme of "the endgame of all evolution" and follow the stories of Hyun-su, Dr. Lim, Pyeon Sang-wook, Eun-hyeok and many other characters who also appeared in the second season.

The new installment of the apocalyptic horror fantasy series will once again be directed by Lee Eung-bok and feature the series' iconic actors Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si, former B1A4 member Jinyoung and more.

The "Sweet Home" series became one of the most popular Netflix originals not only in Korea but around the world when the first season was rolled out in 2020. It was one of the earlier works that signaled the success of K-dramas on Netflix, later followed by hit dramas such as "Squid Game" (2021) and "The Glory" (2022).
