NewJeans members, parents reportedly meet with current ADOR CEO ahead of 'deadline'
NewJeans members and their parents met with the current CEO of ADOR on Monday, two days before the Sept. 25 deadline they gave the agency to reinstate former CEO Min Hee-jin, according to media reports.
The quintet's members and parents met with Kim Ju-young, the current CEO of ADOR, on Monday afternoon, 12 days after the five members held their surprise YouTube livestream on Sept. 11, according to a report by entertainment news outlet Ilgan Sports.
NewJeans claimed that the members were "subtly bullied" by the staff at HYBE during the 30-minute stream and demanded that ADOR bring back Min as CEO. Neither ADOR nor HYBE released an official statement afterward, but HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang said that the company will take "calm measures" in a conference call held a day after the livestream.
ADOR did not confirm Monday's meeting and denied to comment.
Min remains determined to regain her position after filing an injunction with the Seoul Central District Court on Sept. 13. She hopes the court will order ADOR to convene a shareholder meeting to vote for her to continue sitting on the board after her three-year term ends on Nov. 2. The court has not made a decision yet.
