NewJeans to make Japanese debut, head straight to Tokyo Dome
It's full steam ahead for NewJeans — the girl group will release a new single on May 24 in Korea, make its official Japanese debut on June 21 and head straight to the Tokyo Dome to meet with fans in Japan.
The quintet will release a single with two tracks, "How Sweet" and "Bubble Gum," on May 24. "Bubble Gum" will later be used as a theme song for commercials and TV programs in Japan, according to the girl group's agency, ADOR.
The Japanese single will also include two tracks: "Supernatural" and "Right Now." "Right Now" will be come out in May, prior to the release of the Japanese compilation, as a theme song for commercials in both Korea and Japan. The Japanese single will also be sold in Korea, ADOR said.
"NewJeans plans to pull off as many promotional activities in both Korea and Japan," ADOR said in a press release. "They are preparing hard to deliver the best for the Bunnies, the fan club."
NewJeans will hold its second Japanese meet and greet on June 26 and 27 at the Tokyo Dome for the "Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome" event.
This makes NewJeans the fastest foreign act to take the Tokyo Dome, achieving the feat in only a year and 11 months since their debut.
"We wish to take the momentum of this large-scale meet and greet and use it as the foundation for an upcoming world tour in 2024," ADOR said.
"We are giving everything we have for an album to come in the second half of the year and put on a good performance for the fans."
