SHINee member Taemin's official fandom TAEMate to launch Monday

Singer Taemin of boy band SHINee [BIG PLANET MADE]

Fans of SHINee’s Taemin have got their very own name: TAEMate.

TAEMate separates the SHINee member's fans from those of the boy band's main fandom, SHINee World.

The inception of TAEMate follows Taemin’s start as a solo artist under his new label, Big Planet Made, which he signed with after his contract with his agency of 16 years, SM Entertainment, ended in March. He will continue his band activities with SHINee under SM Entertainment.

The fan club’s new name and logo were revealed at noon through Taemin’s social media pages on Wednesday.

TAEMate combines the singer’s name and the word “mate” to mean “Taemin’s closest and dearest friend,” according to Big Planet Made in a press release.

Fans can buy membership to the TAEMate club from next Monday to June 2. Specific details will be revealed at a later date through social media.

Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee under SM Entertainment in May 2008 with "Replay" (2008). The band is known for its hits "Ring Ding Dong" (2009), "Lucifer" (2010), "Sherlock" (2012) and "Dream Girl" (2013).

He was the band’s first member to release music as a solo artist. He dropped his first EP, “Ace,” with the lead track “Danger” in August 2014 and has subsequently released hits, including “Move” (2017), “Criminal” (2020) and “Guilty” (2023).

The singer recently performed at the upcoming Fansland Web3.0 Music Festival, which took place in Bangkok over the weekend.
