"Minari" has nabbed yet another award, this time the Best Intergenerational Film from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) on Thursday.

The AARP hosts the Movies for Grownups Awards. Honorees at this year's ceremony included "The United States vs. Billie Holiday" for Best Picture/Movie for Grownups, Aaron Sorkin for Best Director and Best Screenwriter for "The Trial of the Chicago 7" and George Clooney for Career Achievement.

"Minari," a film based on the story of a Korean-American family who immigrates to the U.S. in pursuit of the American dream, was chosen for depicting " the immense impact a grandma from the old country can have on a family."

The AARP also described 73-year-old Youn Yuh-jung, the actor who plays the grandmother in "Minari," as "the Korean Meryl Streep."

Earlier this week, the film won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th Golden Globe Awards.

The semi-autobiographical tale based on director Lee Isaac Chung's childhood hit Korean theaters on Wednesday and garnered an audience of 40 thousand on its first day.
