Taeyang to hold solo concert for first time after seven years
Singer Taeyang will hold a solo concert for the first time in seven years, according to his agency The Black Label.
The concert is part of Taeyang’s Asia tour “The Light Year,” the agency said Monday. The performance will be held in Olympic Hall, Songpa District, southern Seoul, on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
The dates for future performances have not been disclosed yet.
Taeyang debuted as a member of boy band Big Bang in 2006 and released his first solo album two years later in 2008. His song “Eyes, Nose, Lips” (2014) reached No. 3 on Melon’s yearly music charts in 2014. His last full-length album was “White Night,” released in 2017.
Taeyang signed with The Black Label on December 2022 after being with YG Entertainment for over 16 years. The Black Label was founded in 2016 as a subsidiary label of YG Entertainment by Korean American rapper and producer Teddy. The agency became independent in 2020 after YG Entertainment sold its shares.
Taeyang released his second EP “Down to Earth” last year in April.
Tickets for the Seoul performances of “The Light Year” will be available on online ticket retailer Interpark at noon on Wednesday.
