Girl group Apink debuted in April 2011 with the EP "Seven Springs Of Apink" under A Cube Entertainment (now IST Entertainment).
The group originally debuted as a group of seven but now consists of members Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Jeong Eun-ji, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young. Hong left the band in 2013 and Son in 2022.
Apink was widely loved for its innocent and demure image, well demonstrated in "My My" (2011), "NoNoNo" (2013) and "Mr. Chu" (2014). It later shifted to a feminine yet more mature and chic concept, shown in hits like "I'm So Sick" (2018), "%%" (2019) and "Dumhdurum" (2020).
After over a decade in the K-pop scene with little change in the member lineup, Apink has established itself as one of the representative long-lasting acts in the industry. It has presented subunits Apink BnN, Apink JooJiRong, Apink YOS and Apink ChoBom.
Apink's fandom is dubbed Panda.
Why did Son Na-eun leave Apink?
Son Na-eun moved from IST Entertainment to YG Entertainment in 2021 but initially remained a girl group member. Son planned to be part of Apink's 10th-anniversary comeback in early 2022 but could not participate in any promotional activities due to conflicting schedules.
Fans expressed their disappointment over the broken promises, and the friction between the two agencies was visible as they gave differing explanations as to why Son could not make it.
Son eventually left the group in April 2022 after lengthy discussions. In a handwritten letter uploaded on her social media, Son said it was "not an easy decision." Some industry insiders told news outlets that the decision was inevitable due to schedule conflicts between Son's solo acting career and Apink's events.
