NCT 127 debuted in July 2016 with its first EP, “NCT #127,” as a subunit of SM Entertainment’s boy band NCT.
It consists of 10 members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan. However, Winwin has not been active as part of NCT 127 since he became a member of WayV in 2019.
Mark and Haechan are also part of NCT Dream. The number 127 in the group’s name represents the longitude of Seoul since NCT 127 is a Seoul-based subunit of NCT. The group initially started with Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan. Johnny and Doyoung joined in 2017, and Jungwoo in 2018.
The band received Rookie Award at the Asia Artist Awards and Best New Male Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2016 upon debuting. In 2022 at the 31st Seoul Music Awards, the band won its first Grand Prize since debuting.
