59th Baeksang Arts Awards set for April 28


The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards will be held on April 28 at Incheon Paradise City.

Also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards is one of the three most prestigious award ceremonies in Korea, along with the Daejong International Film Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The Baeksang Arts Awards recognizes excellence in film, television and theater in Korea.

The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards will be broadcast live simultaneously on local cable channels JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4, and digitally on TikTok.

For this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards, a preliminary evaluation of candidates for awards was conducted by 60 professionals from the entertainment industry, and judges for each category were appointed on the recommendation of a group of experts representing film, television and theater to decide the final candidates, according to the organizers of the awards.

Candidates up for nomination are content provided on traditional broadcasters, cable channels, streaming services and on web channels between April 1, 2022 to March 31 this year as well as Korean feature films and plays performed domestically during the same period. Candidates for each category of the awards can be found on the official website starting April 7.
