Actor Park Su-young booked for driving under the influence

Actor Park Su-young, also known as member Lizzy of disbanded girl group After School, was booked by police for driving under the influence and crashing into a taxi on Tuesday night.

According to the Gangnam Police Precinct, 28-year-old Park, who was in her vehicle alone, hit a taxi in the Cheongdam-dong neighborhood in southern Seoul around 10 p.m. while driving under the influence.

Police arrived at the scene and tested her blood alcohol level, which was "enough to have her license suspended," according to police.

No one involved suffered serious injuries were suffered.

Park was "very embarrassed at the fact that she drove under the influence and sincerely apologized. She also took part in the investigation in a sincere manner," according to police.

On Wednesday afternoon, her agency issued an apology on Park's behalf.

"We are deeply sorry for the trouble caused by something that should never have happened," Celltrion Entertainment said.

"It was irrefutably a wrong act and we feel grave responsibility for the accident. The actor is sincerely and deeply sorry and feels regretful of her actions."

The agency promised to tighten its management of its stars to make sure "that no such incident will ever occur again."

Park debuted as a member of After School in 2010 and has been focusing on her acting career since joining her new agency Celltrion Entertainment in 2018. After School disbanded last year.
