Actor Shim Eun-woo apologizes for bullying in middle school
Actor Shim Eun-woo apologized for her behavior toward a friend while they were in school via her social media account on Sunday.
Shim admitted she had used “immature language” and said she was sorry some 20 days after allegations were first posted online that she alienated one student while she was in middle school.
“I learned immature things I said in school had caused a deep scar on my friend, and I sincerely apologize,” said Shim. Shim is best known for her role in JTBC drama “The World of the Married” (2020).
She tried to meet with the victim last month but the victim refused. Shim sat down with the family of the victim on March 25 to discuss what had happened.
“I realize the language I used and actions I took without much thought when I was younger really scarred someone,” said Shim. “I will continuously look back on who I am and try to become a better person.”
Shim’s agency previously explained that it is true Shim did not have a good relationship with the victim, but there was no physical violence and she didn't do anything that could have been deemed socially problematic.
