CL featuring in new Taco Bell commercial in the United States
CL is appearing in Taco Bell commercials in the United States, her agency Very Cherry said on Monday.
The solo artist stars in the advertisement along with a string of American celebrities such as Noah Centineo, Nava Rose, Onyx Black, BMXer and Brad Simms.
CL appears as a musician, wearing a fur coat and surrounded by fans and her bodyguard.
“As the global popularity of K-pop has risen, more singers have been appearing in global commercials centering around the Asian continent, but CL sets the precedent as a solo female artist appearing in an American television commercial,” the agency emphasized.
CL, a former member of the popular girl group 2NE1, debuted in the United States with her single “Lifted” in 2016. The song ranked No. 94 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time for a song by a solo Korean female artist to make it onto the chart.
The singer performed her two singles “HWA” and “5STAR” for the first time last year on CBS talk show “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
