Dawn to release new single 'Stupid Cool' on June 16
Rapper-songwriter Dawn is returning to the K-pop scene this month as a solo artist for the first time in nearly two years.
"Dawn will release his new single 'Stupid Cool' on June 16 at 6 p.m. on various music streaming platforms," his agency P Nation said in a statement on Thursday.
Dawn performed the song live once during a festival at Kyung Hee University's Seoul Campus in Dongdaemun District, eastern Seoul, on May 24.
P Nation also released a music video teaser for Dawn's upcoming single.
His last solo music was his first EP “Dawndididawn (Feat Jessi)” in October 2020. Last year, Dawn released a duet EP titled “1+1=1” with the lead track “Ping Pong” with HyunA, his now-fiancee.
He is engaged to HyunA as of February, five years after making their relationship public.
Dawn debuted as a member of the boy band Pentagon in 2016. The band is well-known for the songs "Dantasystic" (2019) and "Critical Beauty" (2017). He was also involved in a unit called Triple H in 2017 with his Pentagon bandmate Hui and HyunA, who was represented by the same label as Pentagon. The trio released hit songs like "365 Fresh" (2017). He made his solo debut in 2019 with the single "Money."
