Ex-Wonder Girls member Sunye to release debut solo EP on July 26
Singer Sunye is gearing up to go solo, 15 years after debuting as a member of Wonder Girls.
On Tuesday, the singer pre-released "Glass Heart," a track that will be included on her debut EP "Genuine," which will drop on July 26.
According to her new management agency Blockberry Creative, Sunye’s solo EP will contain five tracks including "Glass Heart," which will be the lead track, as well as “Just a Dancer," “Genuine,” “Now I Fly” and “Best Thing.”
"Glass Heart" is an R&B song that sings about how your heart seems like fragile glass, but also how its transparent so it reflects every emotion.
Blockberry Creative described Sunye's new EP as a depiction of the artist’s honest feelings and genuine stories. Sunye wrote the lyrics for four of the songs.
Sunye, whose real name is Min Sun-ye, debuted as the leader of Wonder Girls in 2007. The girl group’s breakthrough in the music scene came with the release of “Tell Me” (2007). Its other popular hits include “So Hit” (2008), “Nobody” (2008) and “Be My Baby” (2011).
Sunye departed from the group around 2014 after tying the knot with James Park, a Korean-Canadian missionary. The couple moved to Toronto, Canada. She returned to the spotlight last year by appearing on tvN’s reality show “Mama the Idol” (2021-2022), which featured former K-pop stars who became mothers.
