Fifty Fifty lands No. 9 on Official UK Top 40 with 'Cupid'
Fifty Fifty's megahit dance track "Cupid" landed at No. 9 on the British Official Charts' Official Singles Chart Top 100 list, becoming the first K-pop girl group to land a song in the top 10.
"Cupid" climbed 9 spots higher up on the chart, rising from the No. 18 position it sat on the week earlier. "Cupid" was released on Feb. 24 and this is the sixth week in a row for the song to sit on the Official Singles Chart Top 100.
"The ATTRAKT-formed band — comprising Saena, Aran, Keena and Sio — boast something yet to be achieved by such K-pop girl groups as BLACKPINK, NewJeans and Twice as viral hit Cupid breaks the Top 10 to claim a new Number 9 peak today," the Official Charts said in an article on Friday, naming the band's agency Attrakt.
"As it climbs nine spots to become the first-ever Top 10 by a K-pop girl group, Cupid's success proves the genre's ever-growing popularity in the UK."
Fifty Fifty has been on a roll this year after making headlines by becoming the fastest K-pop act ever to enter the Billboard Hot 100.
"Cupid" sits at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, keeping its name on the singles chart for the sixth consecutive week. The band recently partnered with Warner Records last month for its global promotions.
