Four Korean actors to star in upcoming Disney+ series 'Casino'
Actors Son Suk-ku, Choi Min-sik, Lee Dong-hwi and Heo Seong-tae will star in the upcoming Disney+ original series “Casino,” the streaming platform said Monday.
“Casino” tells the story of a man, once dubbed the king of the casino, who lost everything he has in an unfortunate chain of events. The man returns to the gambling scene, this time betting his life.
Veteran actor Choi will make his first small screen appearance in 24 years since the MBC series “Love and Parting” (translated, 1997-98).
Son recently starred in the popular JTBC series “My Liberation Notes” (2022) and hit film "The Roundup," which surpassed 10 million in ticket sales, an indicator of a commercially big success in Korea.
“Squid Game” (2021) star Heo Sung-tae and “Extreme Job” (2019) actor Lee Dong-hwi will play lead roles.
Director Kang Yoon-sung of “The Outlaws” (2017), prequel to “The Roundup,” will take the megaphone for “Casino.” The series will launch through Disney+ during the second half of 2022.
