J-pop star imase to meet with fans in Korea on April 13
J-pop's rising star imase will meet with fans in Korea for the first time on April 13 to celebrate the unforeseen success of his 2022 hit track "Night Dancer" in the Korean market.
The 22-year-old J-pop singer's song may not ring a bell in text, but his song has been one of the most popular songs on online short-form video platforms, namely TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
His song has been streamed over 1.2 billion times on TikTok alone, as the song has been used as the background for tens of thousands of videos due to its catchy, trendy vibe. K-pop stars IVE, Stray Kids, Ateez, Rocket Punch and more have also taken part in creating their own videos using imase's "Night Dancer."
imase debuted in 2021 with his single "have a good day," only a year after learning to write and compose music, according to Universal Music. His blowout success with "Night Dancer" only a year later has won him the nickname "monster rookie."
