Pop star The Weeknd is scheduled to return to Korea for two concerts in October, eight years after the singer's last performance in the country.

The concert, titled "Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 The Weeknd," is scheduled to be held on Oct. 7 and 8 at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi. Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts is scheduled to be the opening act.

The Hyundai Card Super Concert series has been sponsored and curated by Hyundai Card since 2007. It has invited such musicians to Korea as Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Paul McCartney.

It would be the third concert in the Hyundai Card Super Concert series to draw a total of 100,000 fans.

The concerts are scheduled as part of the singer's "After Hours Til Dawn" stadium tour. The stadium tour has held 153 performances, attracting 7.5 million total audience members since July 2022.

The singer became the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify in 2023. His 2020 hit "Blinding Lights" broke the Guinness World Record as the first song to reach 5 billion streams on Spotify.

Ticket sales will open on May 20 on the ticketing platform NOL Interpark for Hyundai cardholders. General ticket sales will take place on May 21. Hyundai cardholders can receive a 10 percent discount on their ticket purchase.
