Loona's Yeojin in stable condition after collapsing on stage during concert in Mexico City
Loona member Yeojin is recovering after collapsing on stage during the girl group's concert at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City on Sunday, according to her K-pop agency BlockBerry Creative on Tuesday.
"Yeojin had a temporary breathing issue right after a performance in Mexico City, a city at a high-altitude region," read the statement. "She was taken care of by the on-site medical personnel right after the incident and she is currently in a stable condition. The agency will prioritize the artist's health and support Yeojin for a quick recovery."
The news of Yeojin's collapse gained traction online after a video clip of the incident was released via internet from a fan who was present at the concert on Monday.
"2022 Loona 1st World Tour [Loona The World]" kicked off on Aug. 1 in Los Angeles and has made stops in 13 cities in North America. The girl group's concert in Mexico City on Sunday was the last date of Loona's first leg of the tour.
The girl group is scheduled to head to Europe in September to perform in cities including Warsaw, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris.
"2022 Loona 1st World Tour [Loona The World]" marks the group's first world tour and concerts outside of Seoul since its debut in 2018.
The girl group's latest EP “Flip That” was released in June.
Loona debuted in 2018 with the EP “[+ +]” pronounced "plus plus." The group consists of members Haseul, Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Kim Lip, Chuu, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye and Yeojin. It is known for its hits "Hi High" (2018), "Why Not?" (2020) and "PTT (Paint The Town)" (2021).
