Netflix's 'The Accidental Narco' to begin streaming in September
Netflix will launch its new series "The Accidental Narco" starring actors Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min, Park Hae-soo and Yoo Yeon-seok on Sept. 9, according to the streaming platform on Monday.
Directed by Yoon Jong-bin, "The Accidental Narco" tells the story of a businessman who cooperates with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to arrest a Korean drug lord active in Suriname.
This is the first Netflix series directed by Yoon, who is known for films “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time” (2012) and “The Spy Gone North” (2018).
Ha plays Kang In-gu, a civilian Korean businessman who risks his life to participate in the NIS’s operation. Hwang plays the conman and drug lord Jeon Yo-hwan.
The series also stars Park as an agent striving to arrest Jeon, actor Jo Woo-jin as Jeon’s right-hand man and Yoo as Jeon’s attorney who offers him protection.
Taiwanese actor Chang Chen will also make a special appearance as the head of a Chinese crime ring.
