NiziU to release second full-length album 'Coconut' on July 19
NiziU, JYP Entertainment’s Japanese girl group, will release its second full-length album “Coconut” on July 19, the agency announced Thursday.
“'Coconut,' as the name suggests, will be an album that expresses the summer vibes, full of summer-themed music,” explained the press release.
With the album release announcement, NiziU also announced the title for its second Japanese tour: “NiziU Live with U 2023 ‘Ccoco! nut Fes.,” which will see the girl group perform in Shiga, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Miyagi and Hokkaido from July 1.
NiziU is JYP Entertainment’s Japan-oriented girl group formed through “Nizi Project,” a global audition program held by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music of Japan in 2020. The nine-member girl group consists of Mako, Rio, Maya, Riku, Ayaka, Mayuka, Rima, Miihi and Nina.
The girl group garnered popularity in Japan with tracks “Make you happy” (2020), “Chopstick” (2021), “Take a picture” (2021) and more. NiziU became the fastest girl group to perform at a dome stadium since its debut with its performances in Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka in November and December last year.
