PSY's 'Water Show' to provide 4 waterproof masks to all participants
PSY’s label P Nation announced Wednesday it will provide a total of four waterproof KF94 masks to all participants in its controversial concert, “PSY The Water Show 2022.”
It was originally going to provide just one mask to each participant but added three more following concerns of the spread of Covid-19, with health authorities also insisting the label to come up with an action plan.
Since 2011, singer and producer PSY has been known to hold a concert every summer dubbed “Water Show.” Audience members are doused in water while listening to music.
“We will follow all regulations to prevent Covid-19 from spreading,” P Nation said in a statement.
The concert has been under fire for not just the dangers of spreading Covid-19, but also due to wasting a lot of water. His concert scheduled to take place in Cheongju, North Chungcheong, on Aug. 27 was canceled after facing criticism for its waste of water. It was revealed that each of Psy’s “Water Show” concerts uses approximately 300 tons of water, all “drinkable.”
Psy’s upcoming “Water Show” will kick off at the Jamsil Auxilary Stadium in southern Seoul from Aug. 4 to 5, the first in three years since the annual summer festival was halted due to the pandemic.
