TV personality Park Su-hong, 51, has been admitted to hospital on Tuesday after allegedly being assaulted by his father during a cross-examination at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office in Mapo District, western Seoul.

Park reported to the prosecutor's office at 10 a.m. for the cross-examination. Park's father was there as a witness, along with Park's sister-in-law.

There, Park's father hit him several times and threatened to harm him with a weapon, according to Park's lawyer Noh Jong-heon, who gave a statement to local news outlet News1.

Park was taken to Shinchon Yonsei Hospital in an ambulance following the assault.

The extent of his injuries has not been confirmed.

Park's brother was arrested on Sept. 14 on charges of embezzlement after Park filed a complaint to the prosecution against his brother for embezzling his money and not fully paying him back. Park claimed that his brother owes him some 11.6 billion won ($8.3 million).

Park debuted in 1991 as a comedian. He has established himself as the host of various television programs including MBN’s “Dongchimi,” which he’s been hosting since 2012. He was also starring on the reality show “My Little Old Boy” on SBS alongside his mother until last year, before the financial woes with his family first came to light.
