Se-jeong to star in SBS's 'Today's Webtoon'
Singer and actor Kim Se-jeong will star in SBS’s television series “Today’s Webtoon," her agency Jellyfish Entertainment said Friday.
Kim will play On Ma-eum, who is forced to give up her dream of being a judo athlete after getting into an accident and gets a job as an editor for a webtoon company.
The show is an adaptation of the Japanese television series “Sleepeeer Hit!” (2016), which is available on Netflix.
"Today's Webtoon," which doesn't have an official English title yet, will air in the latter part of this year.
Kim is currently starring in SBS’s rom-com series “A Business Proposal” (2022) as Shin Ha-ri, who gets tangled up in a romance with the CEO of the company she works in. It is based on the web novel and webtoon of the same name published on Kakao.
As a singer, Kim debuted as a member of girl group I.O.I after competing against 101 contestants on Mnet’s K-pop survival show “Produce 101” in 2016. She was also a member of another girl group called Gugudan. After I.O.I disbanded in 2017 and Gugudan in 2020, Kim has been focusing on her solo career as an actor and singer.
