Singer Ailee marks 10th anniversary with message to fans
Ailee is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut today.
“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years,” Ailee said through her label The L1ve on Wednesday.
“This day came as a meaningful one because of the fans who have always been there for me, encouraging me, trusting me and showing me love. I can’t thank you enough and love you guys so much. I will try to show a better version of myself each and every day.”
To mark Ailee’s 10th anniversary, her label released a special photograph of the singer surrounded by colorful flowers.
As a Korean-American, she had a short stint at Muzo Entertainment in New York City prior to making her debut in Korea with digital single “Heaven” in 2012. The song reached No. 3 on Gaon and earned her the Best New Artist Award at the Melon Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards and the Seoul Music Awards.
She released her first EP “Invitation” the same year and topped local charts. In 2012, she won four awards at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, including the Best New Artist Award. She also received the Mnet America Rising Star Award, which was a special prize presented by Mnet America at the pre-show of the 55th Grammy Awards in 2012.
In 2017, she released her debut American single “Fall Back” through WestSide Entertainment.
In 2018, she also performed “I Will Show You” at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games at the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium.
Her latest release was a Christmas single “Solo Christmas” on Dec. 11 last year.
