Singer-songwriter Bibi to star in second season of Netflix Korea's 'Sweet Home'
Singer-songwriter Bibi will be starring in the second season of Netflix Korea's hit horror series "Sweet Home," according to the streaming platform on Monday.
Bibi's part in the series will mark her first gig as an actor.
Netflix did not specify which role Bibi will be taking on or how much screentime she will have.
Season 1 actors Song Kang, Lee Si-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Gyu-young and Go Min-si are set to return for Season 2.
Actors Yoo Oh-sung, Oh Jung-se, Kim Moo-yeol and Jung Jin-young will be joining the series along with Bibi.
"Sweet Home" is a Netflix Korea horror series that is about the different facets of humanity as the main protagonist Hyun-su and residents of the apartment complex “Green Home” fight against people-turned-monsters which are manifested from their deepest human desires.
It is based on the web series of the same name by Hwang Yong-chan and Kim Carnby.
Season 1 was released in December 2020.
It became the first Korean series to enter Netflix's top 10 list in the United States, climbing as high as No. 3. It also landed No. 1 in eight countries and entered the top 10 list in 42 countries.
Season 3 was confirmed by the streaming platform in June this year which said that it was filmed back-to-back with Season 2.
Bibi stepped onto the music scene in 2017 by featuring in rappers Tiger JK and Yoonmirae's "Ghood Family" album and made her official debut in 2019 with "Butterfly," the lead track off of her first album "The Manual For People Who Want to Love."
She has since released multiple singles, all of which proved popular thanks to their unique subjects and vibe, such as "Binu" (2019), "Kazino" (2020) and ""Eat My Love" (2021).
