Time Magazine names 10 best K-pop songs, albums of 2022

RM of BTS [BIGHIT MUSIC]

RM of BTS and Taeyeon were some of the K-pop acts that made it on to the best K-pop songs and albums of 2022 by Time Magazine. A total of five songs and five albums were named.

The magazine introduced RM's first solo album "Indigo" as the last archive of RM's 20s, highlighting the lead track "Wild Flower" which depicts the singer's relationship with stardom.

"We may not be the same type of artist that RM is, but we're humans searching for our voice, our place of belonging, our personal 'flower field,'" the magazine wrote.

The album, which was released on Dec. 2 and features vocals from singers such as Erykah Badu and Anderson .Paak, debuted high on the Billboard chart while the title track “Wildflower” landed at No. 83 on the hot 100 songs list when it first came out.

Taeyeon [SM ENTERTAINMENT]

Taeyeon's full-length album "INVU" also made it to the list.

The album's inclusion of different tracks with various genres from dance-pop to disco, as well as the singer's skillful vocal was noted.

"If 'INVU' is a canvas, Taeyeon is the master painter who splashes it in all the hues and shades of her voice," the magazine read, stressing how experienced singers like Taeyeon still proved to be a "giant in the industry."

The album consists of 13 tracks. “INVU” means “I envy you,” which is directed toward a significant other who does not take love seriously.

NewJean's debut song "Hype Boy," Treasure's song "Hello" and Seventeen's album "Face the Sun" were some others that were named on the list.
