Winner's Seungyoon tests positive for Covid-19

Seungyoon of Winner [YG ENTERTAINMENT]

Seungyoon of boy band Winner tested positive for Covid-19, his agency YG Entertainment said Monday.

Seungyoon felt a slight fever on April 7 and underwent a rapid antigen test, which came out positive. He has put a stop to this schedules and will quarantine until Wednesday.

The other members of Winner — Mino, Hoony and Jinu — tested negative and do not have symptoms, YG said.

Seungyoon first became known to the public for auditioning in Mnet’s singing contest “Superstar K2” (2010). His cover of “Instinctively,” singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin’s 2010 song, became a No. 1 hit on local music charts at the time. He subsequently made his debut as a member of Winner in 2014.

Seungyoon also goes by the name Yoon, as seen in the songs he has produced. His latest release as a solo artist was the digital single “Born to Love You” last month.

Winner debuted in 2014 with its first full-length album “2014 S/S.” The band will hold a concert at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, eastern Seoul, for two days from April 30, titled “Winner 2022 Concert.”
