Ryu Seung-ryong [NEW]

Actor Ryu Seung-ryong has renewed his contract with his agency PrainTPC, the entertainment company announced Friday.

PrainTPC has been Ryu’s agency for the past 11 years, and together saw his success with films such as “All About My Wife” (2012), “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” (2014) and “Extreme Job” (2019), selling a total of more than 16 million tickets.

“Ryu has been the main contributor to our company’s expansion and is like a lighthouse that everyone here looks to,” said a spokesperson for PrainTPC on Friday. “We will continue to build on our 11 years of trust and experience together to grow and go forward in our journey.”

Ryu, who started out as a theater actor, made his silver screen debut in 2004 with a small role in the romantic comedy “Someone Special.” He made his mainstream breakthrough in 2012, with roles in historical film “Masquerade” and “All About My Wife.” He has since starred in a number of critically and commercially successful films and television shows, most recently playing the lead in Korea’s first jukebox musical film “Life is Beautiful” (2022) alongside fellow veteran actor Yum Jung-ah.
