AleXa to release first track in eight months with ‘Sick’

Singer AleXa [ZB LABEL]

Korean American singer AleXa will release her English track “Sick” on Friday, according to the singer’s agency ZB Label on Tuesday.

The song is AleXa’s first release in eight months since her digital single “Juliet” dropped in June last year.

“Sick” is about the complexities of relationships, according to ZB Label. The lyrics depict the process through which someone who believes they are undeserving of love and praise given by another defines their worth, the agency said.

The singer recently sat down for an interview on NBC talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” on which she also performed “Sick.”

AleXa debuted in 2019 with her single “Bomb.” Her debut came after her win on Soompi's “Rising Legends: Season 2” (2017) and an appearance on Mnet’s “Produce 48” (2018), both audition shows.

She has since released songs including “A.I Trooper” (2020), “Do or Die” (2020), “Villain” (2020) and “Revolution” (2020). She won Best Original Song at NBC’s “American Song Contest” with digital single “Wonderland” in 2022.

The singer performed at the 2023 iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball held over November and December last year as the only solo Korean artist to do so.
