Baeksang Arts Awards to take place on May 7
This year's Baeksang Arts Awards will take place on May 7 to honor the greatest actors and video works of the year.
The upcoming 60th Baeksang Arts Awards will take place at Coex in southern Seoul at 5 p.m. It will be broadcast live on cable channels JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4.
Nominees will be announced on April 8. Works that were released in Korea between April 1, 2023 and March 31 this year were reviewed. A panel of 60 experts from the arts and entertainment field took part in judging, according to the organizing committee.
Also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, the Baeksang Arts Awards is one of the three most prestigious award ceremonies in Korea, along with the Daejong International Film Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The Baeksang Arts Awards recognizes excellence in film, television and theater in Korea.
Last year's grand honors went to director Park Chan-wook's "Decision to Leave" (2023) and actor Park Eun-bin for her main role in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (2023).
Netflix original series "The Glory" (2023) won three awards — the Best Drama Award, Best Actress Award for Song Hye-kyo and Best Female Supporting Actress Award for Lim Ji-yeon. History crime thriller “The Night Owl” (2023) also won three awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Ryu Jun-yeol, and New Director Award for Ahn Tae-jin.
