Yook Sung-jae of boy band BTOB will release an album and resume his acting career this year, his agency iWill Media said Thursday.

Yook will release a solo album in the first half of 2024, his agency said in a press release Thursday.

The album will be the singer-songwriter’s first music release under iWill Media after he departed from Cube Entertainment in December following the end of his contract. It is also Yook’s first solo music in around four years since he dropped his EP “Yook O’Clock” in March 2020.

“The upcoming album will depict Yook Sung-jae’s musical growth and evolution in his new journey as a solo artist,” iWill Media said. “Yook Sung-jae will show off a diverse spectrum of music that is not limited to one genre.”

Yook will also star as an actor in a work that will be shown in the latter half of 2024, his agency said. His last acting role was as the lead in the MBC drama “Golden Spoon” (2022).

Yook debuted as a member of BTOB in 2012. The band is best known for "Missing You" (2017), "Only One for Me" (2018) and "Beautiful Pain" (2018).

He started his acting career with "Reply 1994" (2013), playing a supporting role. He is known for his roles in drama series “Who Are You: School 2015” (2015), “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016-2017) and “Mystic Pop-up Bar” (2020).
