'BTS The City Arirang' festival to launch in Las Vegas, Busan and turn cities into 'cultural hubs'
BTS is set to host citywide festivals in Las Vegas and Busan as part of its “Arirang” world tour, its agency BigHit Music said on Monday.
The festival, dubbed “BTS The City Arirang,” is a large-scale project that blends music and media to transform cities into “cultural hubs,” according to the agency. The event will offer a variety of sights and activities for fans to enjoy.
The U.S. leg of the project will take place in Las Vegas from May 20 to 31, coinciding with the band’s concerts there at Allegiant Stadium on May 23, 24, 27 and 28.
The U.S. event will offer immersive experiences for fans, from BTS-themed hotel rooms and collaborations with food and beverage companies to social events, BigHit Music said.
Landmarks along the Las Vegas Strip will also be transformed, with major locations illuminated in red, the signature color of “Arirang,” BTS’s fifth full-length album, and large digital billboards displaying welcome messages for visiting fans.
Following the Las Vegas event, the Busan leg will kick off on June 5 and run through June 21 alongside the band’s Busan concerts at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13.
The Busan event will feature a range of programs and offer a cultural experience that allows visitors to enjoy the city as if it were a “theme park,” the agency said.
Further details on the events and schedule will be announced via the group’s Weverse channel.
The “BTS The City Arirang” project previously took place in Seoul to mark the album’s release on March 20.
