BTS's Jungkook earns platinum certification in U.S. for 'Seven'
Jungkook of boy band BTS’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)” has been certified platinum status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), his agency BigHit Music said Tuesday.
“Seven” has now sold more than one million units since its release in July.
It’s Jungkook’s first certification since his collaboration song with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right” (2022), which received gold.
The RIAA gives gold when a digital single or album sells units of over 500,000, platinum for over 1 million, multi-platinum for over 2 million and diamond for over 10 million.
The units are defined as the sales of both physical and digital albums, digital downloads and audio and video streaming.
Jungkook released his first solo album “Golden” earlier this month, which is comprised of 11 songs, including “Seven,” “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” and the lead track “Standing Next to You.”
He sold more than two million copies of the album on the first day of its release, the highest ever for a K-pop soloist.
