Bugs launches fan voting service with the JoongAng Ilbo
Music streaming service Bugs launched a fan voting service, Favorite, in partnership with the JoongAng Ilbo, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.
Favorite is a service where fans can vote for their favorite artists, often referred to as "bias," based on different questions the service uploads.
Bugs opened six questions, referred to as themes in the Bugs app, for its first service launch, such as voting for the rising star you had a crush on in 2023, the artist who has made you smile throughout 2023, and the artist you want to share the most romantic moment of the year with.
Artists who top the voting will get benefits, such as a digital signage ad of the artist located in Seoul landmarks like Coex in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, and a special "essential;" playlist consisting of only the artist's songs.
"essential;" is Bugs' YouTube channel, which uploads playlists with special themes and has almost 1.3 million subscribers.
The streaming platform will also open votes for Most Popular Artist for the 38th Golden Disc Awards in January. Voting will begin on Wednesday on the platform.
