Director Park Chan-wook's "Decision to Leave" did not take home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture in the Non-English Language category, with the award instead going to "Argentina, 1985" during the 80th event held in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, local time.

Park attended the awards ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

At the 2020 Golden Globes, Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" (2019) won the award, a first for a Korean director and film.

The Golden Globes has recently been embroiled in controversy as the Los Angeles Times reported an exposé on the voters of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a closed body of journalists who host the event.

It was revealed that some of the so-called journalists on the voters' board had questionable credentials and that none of the members were people of color. The Golden Globes is "fighting to become relevant again," according to New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan.
