The latest Korean original action series from Disney+, “The Tyrant,” topped the streaming platform’s overall content list in Korea and Hong Kong’s TV show chart for three consecutive days, its production company Acemaker Movieworks said Monday.

“The Tyrant,” released on Aug. 14, is directed by Park Hoon-jung. It expands the universe of Park’s hit “The Witch” film series, which includes "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion" (2018) and its sequel "The Witch: Part 2. The Other One" (2022). The series revolves around the battle to secure the missing last sample from a secret project known as the “Tyrant Program,” conducted by Korea’s intelligence agency. The last sample contains a drug capable of creating a human with superpowers.

The action thriller series also entered the streaming platform’s TV show Top 5 chart in three other regions for three consecutive days, according to data analysis company FlixPatrol.

The series ranked No. 2 in Singapore and Taiwan and No. 5 on Japan’s chart.

"The Tyrant" also reached No. 1 on the content community platform Kinolights’ Disney+ chart as of Sunday.

All four episodes of “The Tyrant” are available on the streaming platform.
